HGB Heating Kent began in 2009 when founder Harry Briggs set up a one-man operation from his garage in Aylesford, taking on boiler installations and servicing jobs across the Maidstone area. The thinking was simple: do excellent work, be honest with customers, and never cut corners on safety. It turned out that approach was enough.
Word spread. By 2013, Harry had taken on two engineers. By 2018, the team had grown to eight. Today, HGB Heating Kent covers the whole county — from Sevenoaks to Folkestone, Medway to Tenterden — but the approach hasn't changed. Same standards, same commitment to doing things properly, same plain-talking honesty that built the business in the first place.
We're still based in Aylesford. We still prefer a handshake and a straight conversation to a sales pitch. And we still think the most important thing about heating work is that it's done correctly — because gas work done badly puts people in danger, and that's not something we're willing to be careless about.

Our Team
Every HGB Heating Kent engineer holds a current Gas Safe registration — the legal requirement for working on gas appliances in the UK. All our engineers are directly employed (no subcontractors), trained regularly, and vetted before joining the team.
Between them, our eight engineers have accumulated over 90 years of combined experience in domestic heating. They've worked in every kind of property Kent has to offer — Victorian terraces in Maidstone's town centre, Georgian townhouses in Royal Tunbridge Wells, post-war semis in Medway, modern new-builds in Swanley, and farmhouses deep in the Weald. That breadth of experience means we rarely encounter a situation we haven't seen before.
We operate clean-and-tidy as a matter of course. Dustsheets go down before any work starts. We take our own rubbish with us. And we don't leave until the system has been tested, you've been shown how to use any new controls, and you're happy with everything.

As a Worcester Bosch accredited installer, we can offer extended warranties on Worcester Bosch boilers — up to 12 years on selected models — that unaccredited fitters cannot provide.
Our approved Vaillant status means we can register your boiler on their warranty portal and offer extended warranty periods unavailable from non-approved installers.
