Wet Underfloor Heating Systems
Wet underfloor heating (UFH) works by circulating warm water through pipework laid beneath your floor. Rather than heating the air from a radiator in one spot, UFH heats the whole floor surface — which then radiates warmth evenly throughout the room. The result is comfortable, draught-free heat with no radiators taking up wall space.
HGB Heating Kent installs wet underfloor heating for new builds, extensions, and retrofits across Kent. We design systems to suit your floor construction, boiler, and heating controls, and carry out all work to current Building Regulations standards.
Includes pipework, manifold, controls and installation. Screed and flooring finishes are additional.

The right system depends on your floor construction and project type.
New Build / Screed Systems
The most efficient type. Pipework is embedded in the concrete screed floor during construction. Suitable for new builds and ground floor extensions. Lower running costs and the most even heat distribution.
Retrofit (Low-Profile) Systems
For existing floors where removing the floor build-up isn't practical. Low-profile UFH systems sit within 15-20mm boards laid on top of the existing floor. Suitable for renovation projects where floor height can be raised slightly.
Combination Systems
UFH for ground floor areas and radiators for upper floors. Very common in Kent homes — a practical and cost-effective solution that gives you underfloor comfort where you want it most.
Why Choose Underfloor Heating?
UFH runs at lower water temperatures (40-50°C vs 70-80°C for radiators), which suits condensing boilers perfectly and can reduce gas consumption.
Frees up walls for furniture placement, particularly useful in kitchens, bathrooms, and open-plan spaces.
No cold spots, no draughts, no hot-cold cycling. UFH provides gentle, consistent warmth throughout the room.
Works well with zone control systems and smart thermostats, giving precise room-by-room temperature management.
